How to Date Ball Canning Jars

How to Date Ball Canning Jars

This is a great website on how to tell the age of your ball jars.  Click here for in depth information.
This knowledge has helped me tremendously when visiting garage sales, flea markets and even antique shops.  Just because it is blue and has a metal top on it doesn't necessarily mean it is an "antique."

I have several in my booth in the 1923-1933 range.  So the next time you think you may have an oldie but goodie Ball Canning Jar, check the word "Ball" and not the number on the bottom which just indicates the mold.  If they are newer they can still be used for crafts, regular canning or storage.

Happy Hunting!

Pendulum Vintage Light Fixture

 Pendulum Vintage Light Fixture

I came across this Triangle Home Products pendulum vintage light fixture in a back room of an antique store in Bloomington, Illinois.  Covered with dust and grime from being in their back room (I wasn't even sure I should be back there!) I trudged it up to the front desk.  The man at the counter said he got it at an estate sale and was always going to fix it up and do something with it but never got around to it.

I then brought it home and boy did she clean up good!  A beautiful amber color with electric light fixture and chain in tact.  Would probably need to be re-wired as it probably hasn't seen any light beaming out of it in many a year.  It is oh so vintage and oh so lovely.  You can purchase this light by inquiring at 217-469-9001 or at
